Meg Murray, PhD is an excellent reading tutor and writing tutor who I’ve had the pleasure of helping with her business. She is based in St. Petersburg, Florida, but conducts her sessions over Skype, as she finds that’s the most effective way of teaching. As Meg puts it: “Skype works very well for struggling learners because it engages all learning styles: auditory, kinesthetic, visual, and interactive. The child is face-to face with his tutor, while Mom/Dad can be preparing dinner or managing other children’s homework.”

Meg has had a stellar education, including earning a PhD in Education from the University of Connecticut. Her background is equally impressive: she was a Curriculum Designer for 9th Bridge School in Las Vegas, Nevada, and she was a Director of Academic Advising for the University of Texas at El Paso. She’s been working as a reading tutor and writing tutor in Florida (and elsewhere) for quite a few years, now. She first started as a parent, advocate, and tutor for her own special needs children.
